Biography

My name is Carl Steenekamp, and I am the DA Ward Councillor for Ward 17 in Carletonville, Merafong. I grew up between the towns of Carletonville and Fochville, and I'm currently almost finished with my degree in Financial Management.

I've also been a political research assistant at the Institute of Race Relations (IRR), where I've successfully helped drive international pressure campaigns against expropriation without compensation and against the use of quotas in our sports teams. I also contributed to multiple policy documents (ranging from monthly Covid-19 reports about South Africa to developing an alternative plan to protect our farmers), that provide solutions to our country's problems.
